FIELD: machine building.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building and can be used for electrochemical size machining when removing allowance and making recesses in parts. Method involves electrochemical treatment of the part surface in the liquid working medium pumped through the treatment zone when the working voltage from the pulse generator is supplied to the electrodes. In process of treatment at reduction of liquid working medium pumping rate, rheological liquid is added thereto, wherein working voltage on electrodes is reduced to value, at which anode dissolution of allowance and separation of treatment products are terminated, and in the treatment zone a magnetic field is maintained sufficient to increase the viscosity of the liquid working medium with the rheological liquid. After increasing and stabilizing speed of liquid working medium at output from processing zone, voltage on electrodes is increased to operating value, wherein at the outlet of the treatment zone, the liquid working medium and the rheological liquid are separated into streams and, for reuse, moved into storage containers.
