FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, particularly, to equipment for aluminum production by electrolysis of cryolite-alumina melts, and namely to design of anode device of electrolysis unit. Thermochemically stable anode for electrolysis of aluminum contains a heat and electric insulating cap with an opening collar in its wall, attached through the holder to a metal rod, a monometal electric conductor coated with an oxide layer placed inside the cap, and an aluminum terminal block consisting of lower molten and upper solid parts, located in cuff opening and connected through aluminum current lead with metal rod. Monometallic electric conductor is molten aluminum, the lower surface of which is coated with a layer of corundum. In the upper part of the cap between its walls and melted aluminum there is a sealed cavity made with the possibility of creating a vacuum, under the influence of which the electric conductor is hanging inside the cap.
