The present invention relates to a stubbing accessory (1), a stubbing surface making it possible to preserve an adjacent surface of the surface to be stumped, the stubbing accessory (1) is suitable for supporting a paint application tool (2) and comprises a rule (3) of which an external face (31) is supported on the adjacent surface while a support stop (32) is supported on the surface to be leveled thus protecting the adjacent surface. According to the invention, the support stop (32) comprises a rebate (33) disposed on the external face of the rule (3), the rebate (33) allows to collect a surplus of paint which would pass between the stop support (32) and the surface to be leveled.
