Sequence Stratigraphy Analysis of the Peruvian Offshore Continental Shelf-Slope. Volume 1. Final Report

As part of a program to revitalize interest, the USTDA agreed to fund a study of the sequence stratigraphy and hydrocarbon prospectivity of the entire Peruvian offshore shelf and slope for PERUPETRO S.A. Although there have only been two wildcat wells drilled offshore Peru in the past 20 years, by demonstrating enhanced potential in previously know plays in the Tumbes, Talara and Trujillo basins, and by identifying new plays in the Salaverry, Sechura and Pisco basins, this study suggests that further drilling activity is warranted. The Lima and Mollendo basins were not assessed due to insufficient data.
