摘要

The purpose of the study was to model and simulate the impact of alternative DOT expenditures by mode on employment and real disposable income. Using a 490 Sector Input/Output Model of the United States, conjoined with a structural model of the United States, the study simulated short term, intermediate term, as well as dynamic disequilibrium path projections of the effects of DOT expenditures by mode when financed by general funds or user supported fees over each year for a ten-year period. The study provides policymakers and planners at DOT with a means of anticipating the short term employment-output consequences of alternative expenditure strategies using a standard demand side methodology.
