Comparisons Between Ultrasonic Bulk Shear Wave Velocities in Textured Steel with Application to the Measurement of Residual Stress

摘要

Accurate comparisons of the ultrasonic shear wave velocities, for various modes of propagation in textured mild steel plate, are reported. The results indicate that the use of such comparisons forms a valid basis of potential methods for measuring residual stress in bulk mild steel plates.
