摘要

The system of cultured lymphocytes of man is within certain limitations a reliable indicator of radiation damage to human cells. Within the range of 50-300 rad a definite dose-response is to be observed, if the observations are restricted to first division cells. The question of very low doses is not yet cleared and should be further investigated. The limitations are, that a rather high intra-individual variation exists. This may have its origine in the variable potency of lymphocytes responding to antigene stimulus (Phytohemagglutinine) as well as in genetical or conditional individual differences in DNA-damage and repair capacities. It seems to be necessary, to elucidate these variations in further studies. (Atomindex citation 11:531239)
