Marbles: a means of introducing students to scattering concepts

摘要

The purpose of this activity is to introduce students to concepts of short-range and long-range scattering, and engage them in using indirect measurements and probabilistic models. The activity uses simpje and readily available apparatus, and can be adapted for use with secondary level students as well as those in general physics courses or teacher training programmes at the college level.
