Green light for West Franklin Ph2

Total has launched the second phase of development at the West Franklin field, after receiving approval from the UK government's Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). West Franklin is located in blocks 29/5b and 29/4d in the UK sector of the North Sea. It was discovered in 2003 and began producing gas and condensates in 2007. In 2008, drilling of an appraisal well more than doubled the field's estimated reserves to 85mn boe and prompted the Phase 2 development.
