POPs Review Committee recommends listing of HBCD under Stockholm Convention

The Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) recommended that parties to the convention consider listing hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD), a flame retardant primarily used in polystyrene, during its seventh meeting, held in Geneva Oct. 10-14.
