The Texas leaf-cutting ant, Atta texana (Buckley), has several common names including the town ant, cut ant, parasol ant, fungus ant and night ant. Texas leaf-cutting ants can be extremely destructive to landscape plants, gardens and some agricultural crops in Texas.
