Texas native crop good; drought persists

The drought continues its massive grip on the state of Texas, even though some areas have had some rain. For the most part though, rains have been very spotty. Though the implications of poor rainfall on improved pecans are less than natives, due to the usual use of irrigation on planted trees, there are very real consequences from the lack of water for both groups of trees. Most irrigation systems are supplemental at best in Texas and this is made very clear in dry years.
