SEARCHING FOR PLANT GALLS AT CASTOR HANGLANDS NATIONAL NATURE RESERVE

Castor Hanglands NNR, to the west of Peterborough, was once my home patch, as I lived in that cathedral city as a teenager and young man. It is a full 48 years since I first cycled to this heath and woodland setting, initially to explore the bird life and, although my natural history tastes have now changed, the Hanglands have always had something new to offer, and now that galls are my latest passion it seemed a promising site to which to take BPGS members.
