The recent pronouncement that global commercial fisheries will go extinct within 42 years is simply wrong, say two scientists who have extensively studied fishery management for many years. And, if an e-mail from the pronouncement's main author — Boris Worm — is any indication, the prediction of extinction was a handy way to attract the attention of the press — which it did.
