Hake off the B.C. coast appeared, then disappeared, but always seemed to be moving away from their usual waters. Brian Mosc, president of B.C.'s Deep Sea Trawlers Association, said there has been plenty of fish this year. The problem is that the fishare moving more and more north every year. In 2007 and again in early July this year, fishermen were catching hake in Queen Charlotte Sound, working about seven to 12 hours out of Port Hardy on northern Vancouver Island, where many boats deliver.
