Like most fishermen, Patrick O'Neil has faced up to the conflicting demands of family and fishery. To support a family, most fishermen must be away from family for weeks or months. But to nurture the family, fishermen must be at home. Like many fishermen, O'Neil traded time on the water for time with his family. To compensate, O'Neil had to become a better fisherman to make each minute on the water count.
