Phil Fogle needed a fast and fuel-efficient boat to take advantage of widely separated seine fisheries, and he found it with the F/V Invincible.Discouraged by the increasing federal regulation of Alaska's groundfish, Fogle looked to Southern California's market squid fishery for income during the summer to fall months. A boat with ample hold capacity and modest fuel consumption was key to his plan to alternate between market squid and Alaska's salmon and herring seine fisheries.Fogle enlisted the Seattle-based Delta Marine Industries to build a wide body 58-foot fiberglass hull seiner, which he hopes will be the last boat he'll ever need.Highlighting its "very good hull design," Fogle said the Invincible is ideal for distance coverage. "It doesn't burn much fuel for the speed I go."
