Monorail-track components differ from regular I-beams in that the thickness of the crosspieces is 2.3 times the wall thickness, while the operating conditions impose strict requirements on the skew of the crosspieces. Previously, such components were produced on the 500 rolling mill at OAO Kuznetskii Metallurgicheskii Kombinat, where crossed grooves were used to meet the elevated requirements in the prefin-ishing and finishing cells [1]. The development of the new production technology for the DP 155 monorail component was based on the mill for the 14B2 I-beam, in which the beam cross section in universal cell 11 is most similar to the monorail profile. After cell 11, the final profile with t/s = 2.28 is produced in two passes in the control and universal grooves, with minimum reduction (Fig. 1). (Here t is the thickness of the crosspiece; s is the wall thickness.)
