The product range for small and micro moulded parts is already very broad. Encapsulated inserts and multi-component articles already exist. This boom was triggered by the manufacture of different gear wheels, in particular the minute gear wheels required for the watch and clock-making industry. An important distinction is made in this sector between micro parts and micro textures. The injection moulding of small and micro parts involves articles that weigh less than 1 g with physiognomies of less than 0,1 mm. The production of micro textures involves producing 3D surfaces measured in urn on injection moulded parts. However, the injection moulding of small parts or textures is not synonymous with the use of small injection moulding machines. Instead, the requirements in terms of size and performance result from the dimensions and complexity of the articles.
