Roll Shop Simulator: For Roll Shop design

摘要

COMPETITION in manufacturing requires new production ideas to provide integrated solutions. Roll shop design has become a highly complex task due to the need to select, in the best available way, the components making up the roll shop while taking into account a large number of constraints such as machine availability and process integration. In this paper a new method is described based on a software model to simulate the interactions between all the resources present in a roll shop. Analysis of production data alone for each individual machine in a roll shop is insufficient to enable the correct design of the shop as each machine's productivity depends on the other machines in the same line.
