Hairawn muhly (Muhlenbergia capillaris) has become one of the more widely used native grasses in residential, commercial, and roadside landscapes. Often marketed as pink muhly grass, hairawn muhly is a native bunchgrass that occurs from Rhode Island to Texas. The popularity of hairawn muhly has resulted from its landscape performance, adaptability to a wide variety of landscape conditions, showy inflorescences, and its semi-evergreen to evergreen nature, at least in Florida.
