Assembly of an unprecedented metal-pipemidic acid complex modifying octamolybdates containing like DNA spiral chain

摘要

By introducing antibacterial drugs pipemidic acid into the octamolybdates, an unprecedented compound, [Zn(PPA)_2(H_2O)]_2·[Mo_8O_(26)]·3.5H_2O (1) (PPA = pipemidic acid), has been synthesized and characterized by routine physical methods. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that the title compound contains the right- and left-double-stranded like DNA helical chains, which are assembled together via sharing the β-Mo_8 clusters forming the fascinating double intertwined inverted helices. The result of the antitumor activities shows that the title compound possesses higher antitumor activity and selectivity.
