摘要

Chemotherapy protocols for veterinary medicine must be effective, inexpensive, and relatively safe. The toxicities of 2 protocols were compared. —In 1.5 dogs, chemotherapy containing cyclophosphamide, dac-tinomycin, and 5-fluorouracil (CDF) was compared with a similar 5-fluo-rouracil-containing protocol previously used at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital-Ohio State University. Among 12 evaluated dogs, there were 2 partial responders and 1 complete responder. Overall, neu-rotoxicity developed in 6 dogs, or 40%, The neurotoxicity of the new protocol was significantly greater than that associated with the older protocol (Tables 3 and 4).
