Paua fishery positives: 2005 Paua Industry Conference

I'll start my account about the 2005 Paua Industry Conference with some words that came from the end of it. They're from Storm Stanley, a well known participant and supporter of the paua fishery. As people lurked around the bar, post conference, I asked him what impressed him the most. "One of the major things overall," he said, "was the fact that for the very first time we actually had something positive to say to our members. We had some real progress to report on a number of fronts and the negatives of the past have become the positives of the future."
