Brazil's court approves pig iron makers' charcoal pact

Brazil's federal court has approved the agreement signed recently among pig iron producers Sidepar, Ibérica and Cosipar with the federal public prosecutor's office for the regularization of environmental activities in northern Para state. As a result the blocking of the companies' operations has been suspended. However, any breach of rules regarding charcoal supply can result in fines and cessation of activities.
