China Rongsheng Heavy Industries Group in east China's Jiangsu province is expected to deliver the Vale Dalian soon. The ship is the third of Vale's 12 orders for 380,000 dwt very large ore carriers (VLOCs). The exact month for delivery has not been named. A Rongsheng official explained to Platts Steel Business Briefing that this is difficult because the trial voyage, begun on March 20, includes a series of machinery and seaworthiness tests and can last between one and two months.
