Port Hedland in Western Australia loaded a record 1.04 million mt of iron ore on a single tide session late Monday, breaking the last all-time high of 947,775 mt set June 5, the Port Hedland Port Authority said in a statement Tuesday. The 1.04 million mt of ore was loaded on to six vessels, five of which were confirmed to be Capesize vessels and the sixth a Post-Panamax vessel, according to Steed Farrell, a spokesman for the Port Hedland Port Authority.
