Activity in the Asian spot metallurgical coal market was thin Monday, as bearishness in the Chinese steel industry undermined trading in the region’s clearing market. Premium low-vol hard coking coal prices were assessed unchanged at $96.75/ mt CFR China on Monday. This equates to $87.75/mt FOB Australia netting back with Panamax freight.
