Prices of merchant pig iron out ofthe Black Sea ports crept up slightly this weektracking both Turkish scrap and Chinese iron ore.Platts weekly pig iron price assessment went up $3.50/mt Friday to $178-$182/mt FOBBlack Sea, indicating a midpoint of $180/mtFOB. This meant the assessment still remained$10/mt below the price of premium heavymelting scrap I/II (80:20) imported into Turkey,according to Platts assessment Friday.
