EU coal demand low but some inquiries

Although demand for low-vol and high-vol A coals remains moribund, high-vol B and mid-vol activity is more healthy with Australian coals failing to lure buyers away from US material. One central European trader said indicated price levels for US met coal have not moved much in recent weeks. There was no demand besides some inquiries for US low-vol, with offers around $100- 110/mt FOB US East Coast. He also said the spread between contract and spot pricing seemed quite low, especially for US mid-vol material.
