Brazilian miner Vale saidMonday its third-quarter output rose 2.9%year on year to 88.22 million mt, a recordfor any quarter despite its reining in productionat high-cost sites.That meant production in the first ninemonths of the year was 5% higher at248.03 million mt. Production volumeexcludes ore acquired from third partiesand joint venture Samarco’s output.
