China to consume 1.1 bn mt of ore concentrate

China's consumption of iron ore concentrate is expected to grow 4.1% year on year in 2013 to 1.1 billion mt, Li Xinchuang, director of China Metallurgical Industry Planning & Research Institute (MPI), said in Beijing Tuesday. The projection is based on an 8% year on year gross domestic product (GDP) growth for China's economy in 2013, up from a possible 7.8% annual growth in 2012, Li said at the release of MPI's research report on China's economy in 2013.
