Scrap import prices rise in east Asia, Tokyo Steel up again

Transactions this week for imported scrap into East Asia reflected a firming market. Two bulk 80/20 cargoes from US West Coast were recently booked for early February shipment at $403/mt CFR China and at $408/mt CFR for shredded, traders said. The buyer is believed to be a Chinese trader. Last week, two bulk cargoes of US West Coast HMS I were booked at a lower price of $385/mt CFR Korea.
