US Wst Coast (USWC) scrap export prices moved up this week as US sellers turned to Korea, with China out of the market. One deepsea cargo of heavy melting scrap and shredded scrap was booked this week from the USWC to Korea at 405 dollars/mt CFR, representing about a 15 dollars/mt increase from prior deepsea cargoes heard in late July and with further increases anticipated later this week and into next week, according to market participants.
