After a busy day of buying Wednesday, spot procurement interest in the iron ore market fell away Thursday as industry participants were spooked by the sharpness of the rebound in prices. Most believed the pace of the uptick did not reflect the steel fundamentals. Platts assessed the 62% Fe Iron Ore Index at $55.50/dry mt CFR North China, down $1.25/dmt on the day.
