The daily Platts assessmentfor imports of ferrous scrap into Turkeywas unchanged at $175/mt on Friday, withliquidity low in the lead up to the nation’sgeneral election.According to sources, the most recenttrade heard was a sale for 23,000 mt ofheavy melting scrap I/II (80:20 blend)concluded at $175/mt CFR Turkey in thelast few days, originating in Europe andsold to a Turkish mill. The deal indicatedthat the market was still trading at theprice level assessed by Platts onThursday.
