摘要

Synthesis,magnetic and X-band e.s.r.spectra were reported for a homo (Cu(II)-Cu(II)) and hetero (Cu(II)-Zn(II)) binuclear methyl imidazolate bridged complexes using 2,2'-bipyridyl (Bipy) as capping ligand.Antibacterial and superoxide dismutase activity of these compounds was also measured.From pH dependent e.s.r.and electronic spectral studies,complex [(Bipy)_2Cu-2Me-Im-Cu(Bipy)_2](ClO_4)_3.CH_3OH (where 2Me-Im=2-methyl imidazolate ion) was found to be stable in pH range 8.5 to 10.5 and complex [(Bipy)_2Cu-2Me-Im-Zn(Bipy)_2](BF_4)_3 above 8.5 pH only.All the observations indicate that these complexes act as possible model for superoxide dismutase.
