摘要

Polarographic technique was used to study the reduction of In(III) with bicarboxylic acids in aqueous medium and the stability constants of complexes formed by In(III) with bicarboxylic acids have been evaluated. A complex of metal with bicarboxylic acids ratio 1:3 has been reported. The values of stability constants of In(III) with diglycolic acid as lg β1 = 3.04, lg β2 = 5.707, lg β3 = 8.76, with levulinic acid as lg β1 = 2.602, lg β2 = 5.041, lg β3 = 8.0791 and with pyruvic acid as lg β1 = 2.00, lg β = 4.77, lg β3 = 8.146 at 308 K have been calculated by the DeFord and Hume methods. The Mihailov mathematical method was also used to compare the values of stability constants. Thermodynamic and kinetic parameters have been evaluated. Since the reduction was quasi-reversible, electrode kinetics of the reduction has been investigated.
