Tribute to Professor Sun Shiquan (1927-2012)

It is fitting that the Journal should commemorate and honour the life and work of Professor Sun, the leading pioneer and champion of tissue banking in China. All who associated with him remember his infectious enthusiasm for spreading the word about this emerging subject. His singular Mission, of course, was to get his own country China to understand the value of and adopt this medical technology to mend bones, heal burns and transplant damaged tissue in various locations in the human body. His legacy is the leading Chinese tissue in Shanxi Province, which has now led the way for other centres throughout China to embrace this medical technology.
