Lateral process fracture of the talus is an uncommon injury.1 Traditionally, high-impact falls and motor vehicle accidents have been the major causes of this injury,1 but the popularization of snowboard-ing since the 1980s has added another cause to the list and has increased the incidence.2 The fracture is difficult to recognize in the clinic or emergency room setting because the clinical examination may be nonfocal and radiographs of the foot and ankle may not readily reveal the fracture line.
