Pauline Mooney - multi-faceted character

Pauline Mooney is plant research scientist, mother of three, team leader of 256 scientific and technical staff, wife, devil's advocate, sewer of clothes, plant breeder, champion of the underdog, virologist, and occasional artist. Pauline is a multi-facetted character based at HortResearch Kerikeri and was appointed Head of the Future Horticulture sector of HortResearch in the national restructuring early this year. "The new job has taken me out of the lab and into people management. I really enjoy people and helping them find their full size. I don't like the hard stuff - the political games and the aggressive situations, but you get through it and learn to not take things personally. Future Horticulture is one of five sector groups, but it has over half of the HortResearch staff total of 500, so I'm away a couple of days a week touching base with the 256 people and their projects spread from Kerikeri to Clyde.
