Stable, efficient room-temperature LiF : F-2(+*) laser, tunable in the 820-1200 nm region, pumped by a YAG : Nd3+ laser with an injection seeded solid-state wavelength convertor

Room-temperature-tunable, pulsed LiF:F-2(+)* color center laser operation has been realized using the 575 nm pumping radiation from a YAG:Nd3+-laser-pumped LIF:F-2(-) oscillator injection seeded by a low power 1150 nm He-Ne laser. The LiF:F-2(+)* laser demonstrated stable and tunable operation in the 820-1200 nm region with 26% real efficiency at the maximum of the tuning curve. 50% real efficiency has been achieved for the LIF:F-2(+)* laser in a free running operation using a nonselective plane Fabry-Perot optical resonator.
