Max Ruelokke recently lunged at the political jugular of Andy Wells,not realizing the agonizing lockjaw he may suffer by trying to break the thick skin protecting that sometimes vitriolic vein."Ruelokke,chairman and chief executive officer of the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board(C-NLOPB),is furious with Wells,the outspoken mayor of St.John's,for calling the board incompetent.Both made it clear in the March issue of Oilweek that the board should not have given the Hibernia consortium conditional approval to develop the 223 million barrels of light,sweet crude lying within the southern portion of the field.
