Iran's Parliament Approves Industry Outsider as New Oil Minister

Iran's Majlis, or parliament, has approved the nomination of Massoud Mirkazemi, a close ally of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as the country's new oil minister in place of Gholamhos-sein Nozari.Lawmakers had been expected to give the 49-year-old Mirkazemi a hard time because of his lack of oil and gas industry experience and his checkered performance as commerce minister in the last government, when deputies pressed for his impeachment.
