In 2010, US shale gas exploration and-develop-I ment alone increased the domestic natural gas production and offset declines from other sources. Despite uncertainty of gas prices, the slow global economic recovery, the Macondo accident and drilling moratorium, and possible hydraulic fracturing restrictions and regulations, unconventional gas and oil drilling has thrived across the US.
