American Energy inks Utica, Permian deals for $4.25B

Offshoots of Aubrey McClendon's American Energy Partners announced the acquisition of acreage in the Utica and Marcellus shales and the Permian Basin in three transactions worth a total $4.25 billion. For $2.5 billion, American Energy-Permian Basin LLC acquired 63,000 net acres in Reagan and Irion counties, Texas, from Enduring Resources LLC. This was the first entry into the Permian for McClendon's Oklahoma City-based company.
