DUG-East: Marcellus shale play has vast potential

The Marcellus shale could be the largest natural gas field in North America and one of the five largest in the world, said speakers at Developing Unconventional Gas-East (DUG-East), held recently in Pittsburgh by Hart Energy Publishing.Recoverable resources could total 250- to 500 trillion cubic feet. The only questions remaining concern timing and pace of development, which will be determined by pipeline take-away capacity and the price of gas.
