The rumors, floating hopefully through the coffee shops and diners of Crockett, Madison and Walker counties in East Texas, describe massive reserves of oil and gas awaiting producers in Buda Field. Pipelines capable of moving 5 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) and 1.7 million barrels of oil (MMbbl/d), or roughly the output of OPEC member Angola, are in various stages of construction.
