Soviet writer Maxim Gorky called Siberia the "land of ice and chains."Today,one could quite rightly call it the "land of ice and change."Siberia is a million square miles of wilderness stretching across Asia from the Ural Mountains in the west to the Pacific Ocean,and from the Arctic Ocean to the borders of Kazakhstan,Mongolia and China.
