Fluctuations of market prices of five basic precious metals: gold, silver, platinum, palladium and rhodium have been analysed. It was found that these prices are changing rapidly within short periods of time, which creates specific problems in planning ventures with the involvement of precious metals. However, over longer periods of time these metals don't lose their value and their price shows growing tendency. Therefore, the precious metals can be a good long-term investment.
